NextF150 staff have been tipped off by some reliable sources within Ford about what is coming for the 2021 Ford F150.

Starting with the exterior, we are told that the cab and box skins will remain the same which these spy photos at Autoblog seem to show. The Front end will be heavily updated from current models with three different headlight designs. Presumably halogen on lower trims and likely two different LED setups with the top trim having adaptive front lighting. Adaptive lighting systems allow headlights to turn a certain amount with the steering wheel to help see around corners). Reportedly on at least one of the LED headlight designs, the LED daytime running light looks like an upside-down L. We are also told that the current interlocking design of the headlights wrapping around the center of the grille is mostly gone. Although the current spy photos don’t show it, the front window drop-down on the front doors is still there; it is just currently hidden with camo.
The interior we are told will be a vast departure from today. While the design of the current F150 interior is pleasing, materials quality is lacking compared to the newest offering from Ram. Ford is looking to change that with lots of real leather and high-quality materials in the upcoming F150. There will be an all-digital instrument cluster available in upper trims along with what we are told is a sizeable landscape-oriented touchscreen display that will debut Fords new sync four system with Android Auto, Apple Carplay, and Amazon Alexa integration. Ford has started adding fully digital instrument clusters and larger displays on new models such as this 2020 Explorer with a larger portrait-oriented touchscreen.

Powertrain wise all we currently know for sure is that a fully electric model is coming, along with a hybrid model that will have an on-board generator. As for the rest of the engine options, we will likely see the 3.3 V6, 2.7 EcoBoost, 3.5 EcoBoost. 5.0 V8 and 3.0 PowerStroke return although we currently do not know for sure. Sources within Ford say that a hybridized 5.0 Coyote is ready for the Mustang which makes it a perfect candidate for the Hybrid F150.
